The CaloSys calorimetry module of the LabMaster system provides
all the features for professional calorimetric investigations in metabolic research; combination with
other LabMaster modules is possible.
- Automatic recording and analyzing of metabolic parameters via open-circuit indirect calorimetry;
telemetric data acquisition can be integrated
- O2 consumption & CO2 production, Respiratory Exchange Rate (RER) and Energy
Expenditure (EE) in small laboratory animals
- High-speed gas sensing unit (O2/CO2) for short sampling intervals – approx.
40 sec per calorimetry cage/animal
- Special CaloCages with spatial separation of air inlet, air outlet and sample air, home cage or
metabolic cage based design
- CaloCages available in 4 home cage sizes – standard for mice: Type I, standard for rats: Type III
- Individual high-precision mass flow controllers for air supply and regulation are used for both the
test cages and the reference cage

A user-friendly CaloSys calorimetry software module controls the
experimental procedure and collects the measuring data. The measured data file is updated after each measuring
interval and various export formats are provided. Measured values are displayed in data tables and graphs
– online and offline mode.
