TSE PhenoMaster / LabMaster offers specially designed metabolic cages to separate and quantify the urine &
feces of mice / rats. The cages can additionally be equipped with further PhenoMaster / LabMaster modules for
investigations into metabolic performance.
- A specially designed urine & feces collection funnel directs urine and feces into two separate
collection containers
- Urine & feces production can be quantified by time and amount via highly precise weighing sensors
below the collection containers
- Calorimetric measurements are enabled by means of a specially sealed cylindrical metabolic CaloCage
- Adaptations for drinking & feeding sensors allow simultaneous drinking & feeding monitoring
- Light-beam frames for activity measurements (X-Y-Z) can be attached to the cage platform
- The metabolic cages can be easily dismantled into their individual components for cleaning and
sterilization purposes

Fully automated measurements are possible for all mentioned metabolic and behavioral parameters. Experimental
settings and measuring data can be defined and recorded by means of the PhenoMaster / LabMaster software
package.
