Paired / Yoked Feeding

The PhenoMaster / LabMaster software supports the design of paired / yoked feeding experiments by controlling multiple cages simultaneously.

In a paired/yoked feeding experiment, each animal from the test group is paired with a so-called "yoked" control animal. Both animals are subjected to the same testing routine, but only the behavior of the test or "master" animal influences the availability pattern of food or drink to both animals.

This kind of an experimental setup can be used to analyze influences of environment and motivation on feeding / drinking behavior.
