Metabolic PhenoCages

TSE PhenoMaster / LabMaster offers specific designed Metabolic PhenoCages to separate and quantify urine & feces of mice or rats. These cages can additionally be equipped with further PhenoMaster / LabMaster modules for investigations into metabolic performance.

Fully automated measurements are possible for all available metabolic and behavioral parameters. Experimental settings and measuring data can be defined and recorded using the PhenoMaster / LabMaster software package.

• Dedicated urine & feces collection funnel directs urine and feces into separate collection containers
• Urine & feces production can be quantified by freezing, time and amount via highly precise weighing sensors below the collection containers
• Calorimetric measurements are enabled by means of a specially sealed cylindrical metabolic CaloCage
• Adaptations of sensors allow simultaneous monitoring drinking & feeding
• Light-beam frames for activity measurements (X,Y,Z) can be attached to the cage platform
• The Metabolic PhenoCage can be easily dismantled into individual components for facilitated cleaning and sterilization
